Toy Story premiered on November 19, 1995, as the first full-length, computer-animated feature film in history, setting into motion a mega franchise that has spanned three decades and shows no signs of slowing down.
To help celebrate the milestone moment, 2025 Topps 30 Years of Toy Story will guide collectors through all four feature films, taking them on a nostalgic journey from Buzz Lightyear’s arrival as birthday present in Toy Story to Al’s Toy Barn in Toy Story 2, and the continued adventures of Andy’s beloved toys in Toy Story 3 and 4.
Details on box contents are not yet available, but a Topps.com pre-order is slated for April 7.
2025 Topps 30 Years of Toy Story Checklist Overview
The size and scope of the base set has not been announced, but Topps has given the cards a design fit for the occasion.
The backdrop on base cards features the same wispy clouds seen on Andy’s bedroom wallpaper in the film, and Topps has curated a special “30” logo with a silhouette of Woody tipping his cap inside the zero.
Base variations play off other Toy Story themes, such as Pizza Planet, Cone, and Pixar Ball versions, as well as standard image variations.
Parallels will naturally be in play, including numbered options.
Autographs and Inserts
The film franchise’s two biggest stars — Tom Hanks (Woody) and Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear) — both have autographs in this release.
You. Are. A. Toy. Story… Autographs play off a familiar line from an exasperated Woody in the original Toy Story film and again draws on Andy’s bedroom walls in the design.
You’ve Got a Friend in Me Autographs is a dual signature concept named after the now iconic theme song Randy Newman wrote for the original film that has also recurred in the three sequels.
Insert sets include So Play Nice — another theme built off of one of Woody’s classic movie lines — and 30 Years and Beyond.
Topps has also built layered shadowbox Andy’s Cards inserts for the release, complete with sketches reminiscent of drawings seen in the original film.
Short-printed Sid Has Your Cards inserts feature jagged die-cutting, a touch of craftsmanship fitting of Sid’s maniacal creativity.
A tough case hit chase is Al’s Toy Barn, which have an old-fashioned television design and will feature images that will remind fans of Al’s over-the-top commercials from Toy Story 2.
Collectors will also be on the lookout for original sketch cards from Pixar animators.
