Former Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick is signing a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys, according to his agent. Kendrick was waived by the Rams at final cuts last year and picked up by the Seahawks but returned to L.A. in Week 14.

The Rams have already moved in a new direction at cornerback in the offseason, signaling ahead of time that L.A. was parting ways with any corners who were unsigned.

A sixth round pick of the Rams in 2022 out of Georgia, Kendrick showed early signs of being a potential diamond in the rough. Kendrick started six games as a rookie, then 12 games in year two. But his inconsistency and penchant for costly penalties led to him being an afterthought on the depth chart and then a torn ACL cost him all of 2024.

Kendrick failed to make the team in 2025 and spent 10 games with Seattle prior to being let go by the Seahawks and returning to L.A.. Kendrick played 5 games with the Rams but was not on the active roster in the playoffs.

The Rams have moved on by adding Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson at corner in the offseason, a new era for the secondary in 2026. And a new chapter for Kendrick in Dallas.
