Warner Bros. has quietly unveiled the first teaser for The End of Oak Street, their new sci-fi film formerly known as Flowervale Street from It Follows helmer David Robert Mitchell.
Little has been known to this point about the plot of the film, starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor. But the trailer introduces them as a couple whose son, played by Christian Convery, asks, “Mom? What’s happening to us?”
A stunned Hathaway tells him, “I think our house, our neighborhood, our whole street has moved.”
We cut to an overhead shot showing their suburban street falling off — abruptly juxtaposed with a different setting altogether, possibly from a different time. McGregor, Hathaway and family are subsequently chased through what remains of their neighborhood by dinosaurs.
Also starring Maisy Stella, The End of Oak Street hails from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot. Mitchell directed from his own original script and produced alongside Abrams and Hannah Minghella for Bad Robot, as well as Jackson Pictures’ Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper. Jake Weiner and Chris Bender exec produced.
Set to release the New Line horror title They Will Kill You tomorrow, Warner Bros.’ slate in the coming months also includes Lee Cronin’s The Mummy (April 17), Mortal Kombat II (May 8) and Supergirl (June 26), with the Jonah Hill comedy Cut Off (July 17) and Evil Dead Burn (July 24) to follow.
