Killeen ISD approves partnership with Third Future Schools to operate Manor Middle School

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) – Manor Middle School will be operated by Third Future Schools starting in the 2026-2027 school year under a partnership approved by the Killeen ISD school board.

The school will remain part of Killeen ISD despite the change in operator.

District leaders said the move is intended to improve academics and prevent further state intervention while keeping local oversight.

The partnership agreement outlines how academics, operations and governance will function. The deal ties the partnership to performance goals.

Third Future Schools will meet with staff and families soon to explain the transition. Current Manor Middle School teachers can apply to remain at the school under the new operator. Teachers who are not selected or who choose not to transfer will be reassigned to other positions within Killeen ISD.
