Jaylen Brown will be returning from a two-game injury absence on Monday night for the Boston Celtics‘ road contest against the Atlanta Hawks.

That’s the good news.

Jayson Tatum, however, has been ruled out for Monday’s game and is one of five Celtics players on the injury report.

Tatum’s absence isn’t a surprise though, as Boston will be playing the second half of a back-to-back.

“Injury Report for tonight at ATL: Ron Harper Jr – R Ankle Sprain – QUESTIONABLE Neemias Queta – R Thumb Sprain – Doubtful Jayson Tatum – R Achilles Repair Management – OUT Nikola Vucevic – R Ring Finger Fracture – OUT Derrick White – R Knee Contusion – PROBABLE,” the Celtics’ official account posted on X.

Brown missed the team’s home win vs. the Hawks on Friday due to left Achilles tendinitis and was out again on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets.

Tatum has suited up in 11 of the Celtics’ last 12 games since making his season debut on March 6.

The six-time All-Star scored a season-high 32 points in Boston’s win vs. the Hornets on Sunday and is averaging 20.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 31 minutes per contest this season.

Tatum will join trade deadline acquisition center Nikola Vucevic (and possibly more) on the bench Monday, as the latter recovers from a right ring finger fracture.

Atlanta had been the hottest team in the NBA in March prior to Friday’s meeting, having won 14 of their last 15 games before its defeat vs. Boston.
