The Diamondbacks are planning to have the roof open at Chase Field for their home opener against the Detroit Tigers on Monday night, March 30.

The game, which is set for 7:10 p.m., will feature a matchup between Diamondbacks right-hander Michael Soroka and Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander.

Soroka will be making his first start for the Diamondbacks, who signed him in the offseason. Verlander will be making his official return to the Tigers, for whom he last pitched in 2017.

What time do the gates open?

The gates at Chase Field open at 5 p.m. to the general public and 4:30 p.m. for “advantage members.”

Road closure due to Final Four

Due to festivities outside of the Phoenix Convention Center involving the NCAA Women’s Final Four, 3rd Street between Monroe and Washington streets will be closed.

Will the Chase Field roof be open?

Barring unexpected weather, the roof will be open. Evening temperatures are expected to be in the 80s.

Visit from the Clydesdales

The Budweiser Clydesdales will be on site and available for photo opportunities between 5 and 6 p.m. on 4th and Jackson streets.

What pregame festivities are planned?

Beauden Baumkirchner, 8, a Little Leaguer from Lake Havasu City who survived a rare and aggressive infection when he was 3, will throw out the first pitch.

Joe Giacinto, a blind and self-taught clarinetist, will perform the national anthem.

Diamondbacks players Ketel Marte, Corbin Carroll and Geraldo Perdomo will be recognized for winning National League Silver Slugger Awards last season.
