Harkins to debut Arizona’s first 4D movie theater experience


SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Attention, movie lovers! Harkins Theatres is debuting Arizona’s first 4D immersive moviegoing experience this August.

The first new 4D theater is set to open at Harkins Norterra in north Phoenix. The experience will also be available at two other Arizona locations, which have yet to be announced.

Films available in the new 4D experience include Insidious 6, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Resident Evil, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Jumanji 3, and Avengers: Doomsday.

Partnering with Lumma 4D E-Motion, Harkins will incorporate sensory-engaging effects, including synchronized motion seating, coordinated scents, air, water, and environmental cues.
