If you feel like your streaming bills are starting to look like a high-stakes poker game where you’re always the one folding, you’re not alone, and it’s not time to draw your weapon just yet. As we move into April 2026, the major subscription platforms have hit a breaking point with price hikes, leaving many cord-cutters looking for a digital exit ramp.
Enter Tubi.
While the “Big Three” are busy locking classic content behind premium tiers, the free, ad-supported giant just pulled off a cinematic heist. On April 1, Tubi officially liberated the legendary Dollars Trilogy from its long-term paywall, and Clint Eastwood is just the beginning.
From the gritty, bone-snapping realism of modern cult classics to the sweeping, golden-age epics of John Wayne, the “frontier” has never been more accessible. These are the 10 essential Westerns you can stream on Tubi right now without paying a single dime.
The Definitive Spaghetti Westerns: Clint Eastwood’s ‘Dollars’ Trilogy
For the first time in years, the films that redefined the Western genre are back on a free platform.
A Fistful of Dollars (1964): The movie that introduced the “Man with No Name.”
For a Few Dollars More (1965): A deeper, more tactical bounty hunter story.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966): The undisputed masterpiece of the genre.

John Wayne Classic Western Movies to Watch
No Western list is complete without the Duke, and Tubi currently hosts two of his most distinct performances:
Red River (1948): A dark, psychological look at a cattle drive gone wrong. It’s widely considered one of the best films ever made, regardless of genre.
McLintock! (1963): A comedic, rowdy fan-favorite that proves John Wayne could handle slapstick as well as a six-shooter.
Can’t-Miss Western Movies to Stream for Free
Outside of the Western giants that are Clint Eastwood and John Wayne, Tubi offers an assortment of other Western films worth catching (especially since they’re free).
Bone Tomahawk (2015): A terrifying hybrid of Western and Horror. Kurt Russell’s performance as a small-town sheriff is peak rugged grit.
Lonesome Dove (1989): The epic miniseries that saved the Western in the ’80s. Its portrayal of the aging Texas Ranger is the gold standard for character-driven drama. It’s also the role Robert Duvall said he loved the most.
The Magnificent Seven (1960): Seven gunslingers, one village to save. It’s the ultimate “men on a mission” movie.
Quigley Down Under (1990): Tom Selleck brings the Western to Australia. Classic.
Blazing Saddles (1974): Mel Brooks’ satirical masterpiece. In an era of “elevated” Westerns, this remains the most important (and funniest) commentary on the genre’s tropes.
