Amazon Prime Video cancels Wilmington-based series after one season


WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Amazon Prime Video has canceled “The Runarounds” after its first season, according to Deadline.

The show, which premiered in September, followed a group of high schoolers in Wilmington who form a band. Jonas Pate, creator of Netflix hit “Outer Banks,” created the series.

The band featured in the show is a real band and is currently on tour. In a statement released Friday night, the band said they will continue writing new music and performing.
