Vineyard Church Marks 38th Anniversary

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State chapter, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has called on Christians to embrace the spirit of Easter by demonstrating sacrificial love toward fellow citizens and national leaders.

Adegbite made the call during the just-concluded Destiny 2026 conference held in Lagos, where he emphasized that the essence of Easter should inspire compassion, unity, and national renewal.

He also dismissed widespread doomsday predictions about Nigeria’s future, expressing confidence in the nation’s unity and stability. “Peace will reign. Every storm shall be subdued,” he declared.

The four-day conference, themed “A Time of Refreshing in His Presence,” coincided with the 38th anniversary celebration of Vineyard Christian Ministries Inc.

In his address, the Presiding Bishop of Vineyard Christian Ministries Inc., Archbishop John Osa-Oni, urged believers to rise above spiritual discouragement by cultivating a deliberate and deeper relationship with God.

“You must be intentional in your desire for the knowledge of God to truly know Him. It is not a casual relationship; it is a commitment to dwell in His presence for refreshing,” he said.

Osa-Oni noted that remaining in God’s presence guarantees rest, joy, preservation, and access to the divine nature, enabling believers to experience peace even in challenging times. “When you secure the presence of God, you secure life,” he added.

Also speaking, the Coordinator of the Lagos State Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Women Wing, Apostle Josephine Femi-Asiwaju, encouraged Christians to continually seek and abide in God’s presence.

She stressed that abiding in God provides clarity of identity and comfort, even in moments of weakness. “Even if your character is faulty and you are weary in life, remain in His presence and abide in Him,” she advised.

The event drew worshippers and church leaders from across Lagos, reinforcing messages of faith, hope, and spiritual renewal in line with the Easter season.
