Iowa men’s basketball has landed its second commitment in the 2026 class as Storm Lake four-star wing Jaidyn Coon has committed to the Hawkeyes.

Coon was a top target for the Iowa staff when it took over in Iowa City last spring, but Coon made the call to commit to Creighton. However, following his senior season, Coon decided to open up his recruitment amidst the official retirement of Creighton head coach Greg McDermott

Coon was Mr. Basketball in the state of Iowa this year, and helped lead Storm Lake to back-to-back state tournament appearances.

Now, he’s a Hawkeye and is the second commitment in the class for Iowa, joining four-star forward Ethan Harris. Let’s dive into what Coon brings to the table now that he’s officially joining the Iowa program.
