A Marvel TV show on Disney+ just received a promising update for a Season 2.
What is the Marvel Zombies Season 2 update?
On the latest episode of The Escape Pod, Marvel Studios’ Brad Winderbaum addressed Marvel Zombies Season 2. Although Marvel has not officially announced a second season of the animated show, Winderbaum revealed that they are actively working on new episodes.
“I saw the first animatic of the first episode of Marvel Zombies Season 2 this morning,” Winderbaum said. “It was crazy. I can’t say anything about it, but it delivers not just on zombies but also on an MCU thing that has never really happened before that we’re very excited to do.”
Marvel Zombies presents an alternate timeline in the MCU inspired by an episode, “What If… Zombies?” from Season 1 of What If…? “After the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, a desperate group of survivors discover the key to bringing an end to the super-powered undead, racing across a dystopian landscape and risking life and limb to save their world,” the official synopsis reads.
The voice cast includes Awkwafina as Katy Chen, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, and Todd Williams as Blade Knight.
Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells created Marvel Zombies for Disney+. The duo co-wrote the stories, and Andrews directed all four episodes. Producers include Danielle Costa and Carrie Wassenaar. Andrews and Wells are executive producers alongside Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt.
Marvel Zombies Season 1 premiered on September 24, 2025, and received generally positive reviews. Stream all four episodes on Disney+.
