Michigan basketball is moving on to the Elite Eight and is now just one win away from the Final Four after beating Alabama in the Sweet 16 on Friday, March 27.
The 1-seed Wolverines have already locked up their spot in the Midwest region final of the 2026 NCAA Tournament on Sunday, March 29, at United Center in Chicago, beating 4-seed Alabama, 90-77, on Friday.
Michigan will play 6-seed Tennessee in Sunday’s final.
The Michigan-Tennessee game start time will be 2:15 p.m. ET, with the TV channel being CBS.
A win Sunday would send Michigan into the Final Four for the first time since 2018, when the Wolverines lost in the national championship game to Villanova.

After falling to Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament final, the 1-seed Wolverines have won three straight NCAA Tournament games, beating 16-seed Howard, 9-seed Saint Louis and 4-seed Alabama on the way to the Elite Eight. But with a trip to the Final Four on the line, this might be the toughest test yet for a Wolverines program looking for its second-ever national championship (1989).
Here’s what we know about Michigan’s Elite Eight matchup against Tennessee.
The Vols win, 76-62, and will face Michigan on Sunday afternoon.
Tennessee built a 56-43 lead with under 12 minutes to play. Winner plays Michigan for the right to the Final Four in Indianapolis.
Michigan will play in the first game Sunday afternoon, with a 2:15 p.m. ET start at United Center in Chicago. The TV channel will be CBS, with streaming on Fubo (free trial) and Paramount+.
