Pedestrian killed in Horry County crash


HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A pedestrian is dead after an early Monday morning crash in Horry County.

The crash happened about 4:22 a.m. on-ramp 5820, which connects Highway 31 to Highway 707.

Master Trooper Joseph Rowell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 2018 Kia sedan was traveling north from Highway 707 to Highway 31 on the 5820 on-ramp and hit the pedestrian who was walking in the road.

The driver of the Kia was not injured.

The pedestrian’s name has not yet been released.
