Fan favorite Hannah Harper sang ‘Ain’t No Grave’ in Hawaii

Hannah Harper sang “Ain’t No Grave” by Bethel Music and Molly Skaggs.

Lionel Richie praised her performance, which he said “went from singing to preaching” midway through, adding “you got our attention.”

That she did.

Luke Bryan joked that she had started her own genre, “resurrection rock,” saying, “I loved the whole performance. I think your voice is so listenable. It’s so easy on the ears and then, finally, we see you get a little more power behind that voice. You’re showing me you’re ready to branch out and grow.”

He also called it his “favorite performance” she’s done yet.

Carrie Underwood said she got “chills” watching Harper sing that song.

“We got a glimpse of a fire that is in you,” Underwood said. “You remind me a lot of myself when I was on the show. All of a sudden, things would be falling apart because I was thinking about what I was doing. Try not to. Just tell the story and don’t worry about what any of this is doing.”
